On Sept. 17, Ketchum’s London office will host a special panel of experts to discuss a topic titled “The Commercialisation of Children and Young People – a New Wave of Stigma and Regulation?”
The U.K. government launched a study on April 7 titled “Assessing the Impact of the Commercial World on Children’s Wellbeing,” which examines how children’s engagement with the commercial world has changed and what impact those changes are having on children’s wellbeing. A 10-member government panel will report on the findings of the study in early 2009.
With politicians, regulators and the media giving more and more attention to this issue, “The Commercialisation of Children and Young People” panel will offer perspectives on the business, reputation and policy implications of this important debate as well as take questions from the floor. To inform the discussion, Ketchum has commissioned new consumer and parliamentary research from a leading U.K. polling and research firm, ComRes. The discussion will be particularly relevant to directors of communication, marketing and public affairs.
Spaces for this event are limited, and it is closed to the media. For more information on how to attend, please see below.
